Dear Ma:

It is cold tonight going down to 10°, which is cold here. I hope our pipes don't freeze up. It has been sunny all day but the north wind doth blow strong & cold. Doris has been home all day. She has a feverish head cold. She talks of going to school tomorrow but she has no business going out, she is hot and feverish tonight & had gone to bed when Dolores called so now she is sitting on the furnace talking on the 'phone. I have been down to the museum,- it seemed better to leave her to nap & be quiet by herself. I went to a sale of cotton things & bought 3 sheet blanket (winter sheets) 2 sheets, 2 pillow cases, and some dish towels. Just see how many dish towels you possess. I will send you these if you need them. We caught 2 mice down cellar- the poor little things came in for the winter. I hope you aren't freezing up there. Winter has started in early.

Doris.
