Dear Doris,

It is very sunny & quite warm most 60° The dogwood tree is full of bloom & lilacs budded. Our tulips are very attractive. the flowering almond is also very showy between the two houses, & the creeping ivy out in our back yard is also nice & pretty. Our grounds are full of blossoms they attract lots of attention & since I had my lawn mowed it shows of more. Mr. Benoie had his lawn mowed yesterday & afterward he trimmed off those postes [[posts]] where the vines grew & burned them in his back yard. I went out to see him & he told me the vines were dieing [[dying]] & something got into them that caused it so he thought the best way was to set them on fire so it would not spread to other things that were more important.
