Dear Mother,

Well the weather has finally turned hot, with a vengeance; it is terrifically muggy and rains almost every day. I got caught in a downpour Monday night. but fortunately was wearing a nylon dress, so it didn't harm my wardrobe, nor did the warm rain harm my health.

Dean has stopped selling wigs and is into a new business. which he has generated a great deal of enthusiasm for: he is selling hot dogs and soda from one of those little umbrella stands. He began today, but should make good profits -- maybe up to $50 a day, we are hoping. He rents the stand from the mother of a friend. He got his license and the produce this morning and got out in the hot sun this afternoon. Fortunately, he doesn't mind hot weather the way I do. When I get home I have to strip at once and durn the air conditioner or I melt, and in the morning on the subway I am a fountain.

I have found another job possibility and well interview for it Friday -- it is an editorial secretarial position with proofreading and some workin production including training in that useful line. With the Planned Parenthood Association, which should be interesting.

Everything else is normal. I trust you had a good visit in New England and were visited by the same warm weather we have had here.

                                   Love,
                                   Doris
