Dear Mother,
The weather is becoming warmer lately, although we have had just about every other day rainy. The leaves are all out on the trees and Park Avenue is planted up with Easter lilies and geraniums with the spruce or fir trees and the sowing of new white gravel.

There is nothing much to report this week. We did go to a science fiction movie last night, Soylent Green, rather a horror picture of life in 2022. We bought a tape recorder on Monday and Dean is starting to write a short stort on it in spare time.

Work in the office is just going along. I have a job interview for a more interesting position tomorrow morning, one involving editing work on a new magainze put out by the Modern Language Association. One of the things they want is a person with the knowledge of several foreign languages, for which I think I qualify fairly well. But we will see. Every time an interesting ad like that appears in the Times masses of people get interviewed. That is the rotton job situation that exists today.

All we hear about these days is Watergate. The Post certainly uncovered a hornet's nest.

Oh yes, I have been given some editing work to do here in the office, which was quite a change and fun. We put out several publications, a magazine and a Proceedings, and my work was on the latter.

I wonder if your land is drying out somewhat finally so that you can get it ploughed?
Love,
Doris
