Dear Mother,

I really don't appreciate that last letter of yours. I have every right to live my life as I see fit and it is certainly no business of yours. For your benefit, Armando is 100% Spanish and his estates are extensively farmed in a variety of crops-it is all fertile, well-watered land.

There isn't much more to say. He got an eye infection which required four or five visits to the hospital including a five-hour wait on Sunday while cultures were being grown, but it is practically healed now.

I have applied for readmission to school.

Nothing else of interest.

Love,
Doris
