Dear Mrs. Blake:
I called Doris just after I spoke to you and she is well. I will see her next week end. You don't need to worry about her. Last week end I visited some friends of ours who are spending the summer out of the city. They are the Kogers: he is a doctor doing medical research, and she is a student of biology at the university associated with Doris' hospital. She sometimes has lunch with Doris and she told me that for the last few months Doris has looked and acted better than at any time since her troubles. This is my impression too. She has certainly never looked better in her life. She dresses very well now and makes her own clothes, and looks ten years younger than her age.
I hope to pass by Washington sometime in September and if I do, I will see you. And feel free to call me any time. Thank you for your letter
Very truly yours,
Jack
