Monday May 17th 1915
Left Waterbury 9 A.M.
Passed many beautiful
well proportioned house with Georgian to late Empire - Empire influenced doors & windows.  [[?]] roof railings of varied patterns.  Much tobacco land with tremendous long barns facing North-South.  

No ventilators as in hay barns, but all the side boards on bridges so as to open for air.  Apperently no stones any where in soil land beautifully ploughed - laid down.

A most beautiful green a Long Meadow planted with five rows of Fleurs the roads between the two outer ones leaving three rows between.
