May 22, 1918 Left Bar Harbor 10 A.M. after seeing house Cloudy day. Lucky to get off dirt roads before storm. Roads tolerable. Bucksport 12.30 Lunch Penobscot Tea House Left Bucksport 2. Road poor to Camden. Good part of the way after, then poor to Rockport. At Bucksport main street called Franklin St is up a hill some pretty old houses Saw Henry Darling Bucksport house with old paper. Seine, Place Vendome etc. very pretty & in good condition. House & grounds about 5 acres for sale $4000. Camden Hotel Whitehall pretty & nice looking open Rockport, Rockport Inn not open yet. Looked good. Rockland Hotel Rockland looked clean Burst tube outside Rockland. Put on new tire - arrived Thomaston Knox Hotel, good clean 6 P.M.
