Lovely blossoms, dogwood, Japan quince magnolias apple blossoms. 

Wesport remarkable colonial house left of road, built in between 
the columns. 3 doors

Fairfield a one story house to right of road, same character. 

New Haven 12.30 lunch Hotel Taft. 
Two very beautiful red sandstone cliffs to left of town on leaving for Hartford. Might have inspired one of [[?'s]] pictures

Boston 7.30 P.M. Mrs J [[Linzie?]] at dinner. Walked down to Back Bay. Beautiful as Venice with all the lights.

Only just beginning ploughing in Mass. No spring blossoms but pears yet. Further advanced in Connecticut.
