Dear Herbert:

Your cable advising me of the purchase of the HARPIGNIES watercolour has just been delivered and I hasten to send you herein my Firm's check in the amount of $1,452.00 (ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO DOLLARS) - (Ck #1860 - MORGAN GUARANTY TRUST COMPANY OF NEW YORK, to your order, dated May 2nd 1969) which I understand includes the cost as well as your commission.

Your comments about the frame are duly noticed and please instruct CHENUE to declare it as second hand, with a nominal valuation. In this connection, would you be so good as to rush this shipment, for I am leaving for Paris on May 15th - I would like to be able to view this watercolour before my departure.

I must admit it is a high price, but judging from your opinion, and from the reproduction, I am certain that I will be happy to own it. But I am disappointed not to have the COROT.

With appreciation of your help, and with best regards,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
