Dear Tom:

It gives me much pleasure to send you herein my Firm's invoice relating to your Museum's purchase of the XVth century German marble "Pietà", in the amount of $15,000 (FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS) - the terms of payment being: cash $1,000 (ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS) - balance of $14,000 (FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS) to be paid on or before June 15th, 1970.

As you already have been advised, this marble, packed in three cases, is being air shipped to your attention and I do hope it will reach you safely. I am anxiously awaiting your acknowledgement of its arrival.

May I congratulate you on this purchase, for you have thus acquired a truly exceptional work of art which - I am proud to say - will further enhance your group of medieval sculptures which stem from my Firm.

Let me thank your for having given me the opportunity of meeting your charming daughter who impressed me as being indeed a very brilliant girl, and radiating with youthful enthusiasm.

Kindly remember me to Priscilla, and with best regards,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
