Dear Mr. Powney:

On April 21st you were good enough to advise me that you had requested your Bank to pay the amount of $600 to my Firm's account in New York, this sum being in settlement of the drawing attributed to Pietro CANDID - "The Charity of St. Martin".

I should let you know that we have not yet received your Bank's advice.

However, I am proceeding with the shipment of this drawing which is being sent unframed, AIR MAIL, REGISTERED, as per your indications.

Your acknowledgement of its safe arrival would oblige me much. For your convenience, I am enclosing our shipping advice, in duplicate, one of which kindly sign and return to us.

As soon as this sum of $600 will have been credited to our account a receipted invoice will, of course, be mailed to you.

I am very glad indeed of this first business transaction with you and hope that, not only will you enjoy this charming drawing, but that it will prove most satisfactory from the dealer's point of view.

With best greetings,
Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
