April 22, 1969

Dear Mr. Amaya:

Your letter of April 18th surprises me much, to say the least. From the long distance telephone call I had from Dr. Vitzthum a few weeks ago, I understood that the drawing by Israel SILVESTRE - "Panoramic View of Venice" - had actually been purchased by your Museum. - to the extent that an invoice was forwarded by my Firm.

However, from your lines I gather that is not the case, and I will be glad to abide by your request and leave the drawing on approval with your Museum pending Dr. Vitzthum's return.

Nevertheless, I would appreciate hearing from you as to the date you expect him back.

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
