now is (54) fifty-four. These are mostly quite small and all are under twelve years old of age. The rations drawn up for these children consists of (1/2) one half of a Destitute Ration. The ration of Flour has been discontinued, and two ounces of rice issued in lieu thereof. This allowance is too small; and I respectfully recommend that the ration be increased but that they be allowed to draw flour.

Hospital

The number of patients in Hospital has decreased (3) three, two of which by death, total remaining (75) seventy-five. The sanitary condition is very good. There is a great need of clothing for patients, and I [[am?]] respectfully recommend that some articles for women's wear be purchased.

Schools

The same number of schools remain open in this District as at last report. The one at Dist. Kemper Co, shows an increase during the last month. I have been unable to obtain my report, from the one located at Okatibbee.

Freedmen

Quite a number of complaints have been made during the month relative to the nonpayment of their last years work. The only trouble in appeal to the Civil Courts, is their inability to give bonds
