Office Howard Asylum
Lauderdale, Miss. April [[17th?]] 1868

General,
I have the honor to report that, the public property pertaining to the Howard Asylum and Hospital at Lauderdale, Miss, for which John D Moore, Sub Asst Comr was responsible, has this day been turned over to me, in Compliance with Special Orders No 65, from Office Asst Comr Bu. R.F, and A.L, dated at Vicksburg, Miss. April 11th 1868. and that I have assumed charge of the Asylum, according to the instructions Contained in said Special Order.
