Lieut J. W. Sunderland.

Vicksburg, Miss.

Lieutenant,
I have the honor to request that you send me (4) four Bhl of Grist Potatoes. The (2) two barrels are rec'd and planted; and I find they only plant one-third of the ground I had prepared. I have succeeded preparing more land that I supposed I could, when I wrote you on the 16" ult

I would suggest that you send by Express, as it is already late in the season for planting.

I am, Lieut,
Very respectfully,
Your obt. sv't.
