Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, & Abandoned Lands,
Head Quarters Sixth District, Virginia,
WINCHESTER, VA, October 1865.

In accordance with Special order No 41 P.V from Head Quarters, asst. Commissioner State of Virginia Bureau of Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands : dated Richmond Va Augt 25th 1865 I hereby turn over to William Hewitt the brick dwelling house and stable located in Bolivar Jefferson County. Va. held by this Bureau as abandoned land and rented to Sarah J. Lewis, the lease to whom expired on the 30th day of September 1865.

R.F. & A.L. in the sixth District Va., the said Brick dwelling of house and stable located in Bolivar Jefferson Co. Va. the said Brick dwelling of house and stable being my own property and I also hereby assert and agree to the conditions of the order under which this property is restored to me
