This day has been one worthy to be remembered by all on board the "George Henry" [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] We have been much annoyed by the almost continu^[ous] [[strikethrough]] ing [[/strikethrough]] fogs that have attended us since leaving Holsteinborg. To-day we could have made the harbor of "Oo-Koor-leer" had it not been for the fog. All of a Dozen times was the ship headed for said harbor, but as often were we baffled by the surrounding fog. Actually the fog would disperse in 15 minutes leaving the heavens bright & warm. The "George Henry" in half as many more minutes would be ploughing the deep in a direction [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] toward the land In 10 minutes frequently - sometimes in 15 to 20 - we could not see 1/5 of a league in any direction. the  waters. All day long did we contend with tantilizing fog till at last the Barometer told a tale unmistakable! 'Repose for a Gale' was its symbolical language. Heading to the land & ta^[c]king about was a game that could not be played longer. Capt Buddington always on the alert anticipated what was coming. He ordered the vessel to be headed from the land & kept so. The fresh breeze gave way to a strong breeze - strong breeze was soon succeeded by a moderate gale - moderate gale to fresh gale - fresh gale to strong gale & then later by a whole gale!
