White Boats fully manned are counted. On they come - for what we know not. The captain now discovers that they are from the "Black Eagle" with the exception of one from our tender the Rescue. We are now nearing the destined harbor. I look over the bow of the George Henry every now & then. What a pretty sight ! Every now & then , I cast my eye westward, & [[underlined]] glorious [[/underlined]] is the scene!! I turn to [[strikethrough]] ward [[/strikethrough]] the lar-board side & [[underlined]] grandeur [[/underlined]] stands before me !!!
The pretty sight is Eight boats in line

Each boat had 6 oars 1 steering 5 Rowing The steerers stood up - 3 oars on the star board side & 2 on the larboard of each The boats were fast together [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] by lines (each 20 feet long) running from the bow to the loggerhead
