Cloudy with heavy snowfall. The Sch Lizzie Sha starts for Unga to bring coal and anchors in the outer harbor. Returns at night, finding windlass & hawse pipes defective so that she cannot go to sea.

Very high tide, rises above guage to 9.95 on the staff. Small harbor covered with ice again but not thick

Tide has been up to ten, on staff above limits of guage register. A heavy swell rolling in, probably the result of a heavy blow outside, which has shown itself here only by the low barometer of the last few days. Weather cloudy, P.M. heavy snowfall and large increase of ice in small harbor.

Half a gale of wind with blinding snow, continues all day and evening. Cannot visit tide guage.

Cloudy with snow and a fresh westerly wind. Ice mostly cleared away by the wind except some of the oldest and thickest.
