Wednesday July 8
Wind moderate, half cloudy. Land in sight all day. P.M. get bearings fixing our position and on the Sannakk reefs showing that the Russ. [[?]] chart of 1848 is correct.

Thursday July 9
Wind light, run up by the west side of Sannakk and continue our bearings which all agree with the Russian chart of 1848. cloudy & foggy all day.

Friday. July 10
Cloudy & foggy, nearly a dead calm all day.

Saturday July 11
A little wind in early A.M. with fog & rain work through Unimak Pass with the tide & then falls calm and we have to anchor with the [[Kedge?]] in 25 fms water. Rolling like the devil all the P.M. & evening. Rainy & foggy.

Sunday July 12
Foggy all day, wind moderate westerly. Run into [[Akkum?]] Bay in the fog. By evening off the Akatan Pass

Monday July 13
Morning early foggy, lights up and we find ourselves in the entrance of Constantine Bay. Work in toward the anchorage and anchor inside the reef about 9 A.M. Take the mail ashore and find that the priest and Hennig are away. A Col. Woods of Indiana is appointed Deputy Collector. Wagner is waiting for a chance to go down. Elliott & Lieut. Maynard U.S.N. have gone to St Paul with the Reliance. The Alexander is expected every day from there. Cyone is due in ten or fifteen days. Bean has gone to St. Michael's for the A. C. Co.
