Morning - Pace, P.O. breakfast, office Work over inventories & make 3 copies - Go down to Hodges, Pay Paces bill, See Jennings, back to office dinner. Evening call on Mrs Otis.

Friday Nov 13
Morning [[insertion]] P.O. [[/insertion]] office. Get two books of Moore. Herendeen, Smith & Bradford come in. Go over inventory with him & finish it. Go down town & pay Hodge & Blakiston, See Hall & Carmany, back to office. P.M. see Smith and work at room

Saturday Nov 14
P.O. office, get express wagon - Go to R.R. Depot, Meet Van Vlack & after a good deal of trouble get my freight off. Back to office and work over accounts. Down to Paces & Cigar man's. Room pick strawberries. Evening bath & overhaul papers. Capt Barnes of the whaleship Marengo states that about 8 miles a little N of W if the N Pt of St Paul Id, he saw two breakers about three ships lengths apart. There was a heavy sea on. Capt Pulver [[[insertion]] of the Camilla [[/insertion]] corroborated him. This breaker is said to be in the Arctic chart, used by the whalers which takes in the Pribiloff group and goes east to the MacKenzie River mouth.

P.O. Breakfast, room, office, church
Back to office. Pack books & papers. Dine & spend the evening with Capt. Noyes.

Monday Nov. 16
Morning P.O. breakfast, office. Herendeen & Bradford come in. Go down to the vessel and turn her over to Bradford and return to office to pay off men. Down town to Bank 619 Clay St and settle a/c with Cyrus W. Carmany Cashier, depositing cash book No. 18.798 with a credit of $8.000.00 Then to Fordham & Jennings. Get check. Settle a/c and deposit in Bank. Back to office, pay Carpenter and work over payrolls. Meet Stearns @ Dinner. Lend Bendel my scrapbook. Evening Academy meeting.

Morning. P.O. breakfast. Get vouchers, work over payrolls. go down & see Capts. Mitchell & Barnes Back to office - dine at the Otises & spend the P.M.

Morning P.O. Navy Agents, Office Thompson, Dr. Blake, Noyes and Chase
