Chachapoyas.

Going up same mountains again this morning.

Starting out ca 5:15. Partly cloudy. Cold.

First bird sounds heard at 5:40. A rather weak and faint Dawn ^[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]] Chorus in full swing 5:58. Some thrush calls, some Brun R patterns, and a lot of stuff I don't recognize. I am about 1/2 way up the mountain now, and have yet to early anything very like D.C.

^[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]] Some Brun "twitter" type songs 6:02.

See a single ^[[1 check mark above]] Brun singing alone

6:25 Hear what sounds like [[underline]] A. torquatus [[/underline]] in area where Cy is singing. Obviously alone.

A few minutes later, hear what is obviously song of [[underline]] A. rufinucha[[/underline]] or [[underline]] A. schistaceus [[/underline]] in adjacent area.

SEE TODAY'S NOTES ON MIXED DIGLOSSINI

Starting up to 9000 ft level 8:00 am.

As I start, here [[underline]]torquatus[[/underline]] same place as before.

See a single ^[[1 check mark above]] Firebelly alone. Probably same individual as before (see diglossini notes). Red patches look quite orange.

^[[margin in red]] Brun [[/margin]] See single Brun alone.

9:45 See 1 ^[[1 check mark above]] or 2 Black & Blue Tanagers apparently alone. Slightly
