Mrs. Cornelia B. Sage Quinton
Albright Gallery
Buffalo, N.Y.

My dear friend,-

Upon my return from a few day's trip this morning, I got your telegram asking for the tapestries to be sent to you to-day, which has been done. Enclosed you will also find a description of these tapestries.

As I told you before, the four Brussels tapestries No 1718/8849 bearing the coat-of-arms of Lord Cobham were exhibited in San Francisco as well as the tapestry No 773/4866 representing the Niobides. To replace the "Vintage" I have sent you tapestries No 1343/6366 and No 1794a/8568 which are both extremely interesting and very fine tapestries.

The postponement of your exhibition has caused one of my greatest disappointments as I had all arranged and prepared to go to Buffalo on the 11th and that I am now in the material impossibility of being in your city either on the 12th, 13th or 14th of this month.

My cousin Rene, who is the charming young man whom you saw this last Spring in Paris, is however going to see you. He will arrive on Saturday morning and hopes to be able to stay with you until Sunday evening. He has never been in Buffalo before, and after all the nice things that I have told him about your lovely city, he is very anxious to go there. He will of course be able to replace me advantageously, but personally I will be deprived of the joy of seeing you all.
