November 17, 1921.

Monsieur Germain Seligman,
705 Fifth Avenue,
New York City.

Dear Germain:-

I was glad to have such a lovely letter as that which came October 7th and I thank you for it with all my heart. It was lovely of you to write me as you did and I appreciate it. Most unfortunately, although the Gallery has been left a fund, it is not our as yet. There is much red tape to be gone through with and as all [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] property and bonds have depreciated to some extend I do not believe it will be as large as the papers stated it would be. We didn't get it yet and do not know when we shall. It was lovely of you to congratulate me and I appreciate it beyond expression.

I hope your dear dad is well, also the others and your family. Please give your dad my love and your mother and sisters and the rest of your family when you write them.

I am perfectly well now; the operation for appendicitis I went through with cured me entirely. It was luck for me that I had the appendix removed when I did otherwise I would be dead by now. The only thing I still suffer from is the shock of mother's death and I am trying to be brave about it as my husband is so good to me and feels so badly when I am depressed therefore I am trying to be courageous like the dear French people.

Give your dad my love and also Eugene Glenzer and Billy joins in messages to you all. Hoping to see you in the near future, I am,

Devotedly and gratefully your friend,
