2 = around the "sun-trap" on W. side of lower reservoir.

Bombus lucorum ♀︎ at 1; B. agrorum & lapidarius ♀︎♀︎ at 2.
Dolerus nigratrus  ♂︎ at 1: first wasps for 1943.
Centeterus opprimator?  ♀︎ at 1, ant. 21.
Hemiteles or Phygadeuom?  ♀︎ = at 1, ant.20

14th April 1943.

A soft day, mainly cloudy with SW breeze;  some slight sun in early afternoon, then very warm.

In afternoon rode across Phoenix Park to Ashtown & turned up Royal Canal to Blanchardstown & back; on very back swept edge of canal & along ditch, chiefly opposite Morgan's School, but no very attractive ground seen.

Bombris terrestris, lapidarius & muscorum  ♀︎♀︎ seen
Andrena cineraria  ♂︎♂︎ seen on tow path at lock below Blanchardstown, there no doubt a colony exists; this colony, like that in the Furry Glen, is evidently one of the early ones!
A. jacobi  ♂︎ & ♀︎, 
A. albicans  ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎ seen
Halictus  of. albipes  ♀︎ seen.
Nomada spp. many ♂︎♂︎ seen on Dandelions
Myrmica laevinodis  ♀︎ swept on edge of canal; examined!
