At 1.45 a single Swallow seen at Portobello, Dublin
Took ♀︎ Aphidius on Cabbage in garden, kept with bluish Aphides off same cabbage in tube for several days but never seen to be interested in them, though hence "wax" on specimen = A. brassicae ? ♀︎, ant. 13

21st April 1943. 

A beautiful day, with keen & strong E wind which dropped about 6 P.M.;  entirely sunny till 3.30 P.M. when a high haze covered sun, barometer falling quickly all day & night before!  In afternoon we rode to Lucan to visit Mrs. Shacklton at "Canonbrook" & while there swept for half an hour around the pond, along paths in glen on each side of river and in grazing field S. of river.  Orangetip and Speckled Wood Butterflies seen and several Swallows about Glendalkin on way home at 6.30 P.M.

B. lucorum & terrestris ♀︎♀︎ also seen.

Pontania  ♀︎ [I think Salix fragilis is the only willow by the pond!]
