25th June 1943.

Very windy - SW-W - with rain blowing in the wind & showers in afternoon, after a fine night & morning. Rode (alone) to Brittas ponds, intending to go to Blessington, but changed my mind as gale increased & heavy clouds & rainy to south over Blessington; therefore turned back along old road down Slade of Saggart & spent the day in upper part of the Slade in shelter of trees, while gale & rain tore through the upper branches & no doubt beat down many insects. Filled 4 suckers as follows:

1 = along old road & in lee of hedge in hayfield at N. side of farm in angle between new & old roads to Blessington, from Crooksling & Saggart respectively. Insects taken here labelled "Brittas, Co. DU."
