A showery day, cold in morning, warm at midday, but afternoon quite spoiled by two terrific showers: collecting quite impossible after the second shower.

In afternoon rode to Lucan demesne, arriving about 3.30 & leaving, at 6.30 but collecting confined to about half an hour & only possible then under thick trees. Collected only at one place - by the river walk 1/8 mile below the turbine house.
