29th July 1943.

A very nice day, with much very hot sun, SE breeze after a dull morning & two very hot days with W. wind & some drizzle on 27th. Went by 11 AM bus to Rogerstown & worked dune towards Rush, Co. DU., &c. Came home by bus ca. 5.35 (from Rush). Collected in 3 places:-

1 = dunes 1/4 mile NE. of Rogerstown Quay [where Helix pisana was a nuisance in the net & made sweeping almost impossible along sea margin, less so "inland" amongst small fallow fields, &c.]
2 = small area of salt-marsh between road to Quay & H.W. Mark.
3 = roadside & swampy field E. of road between 2 & old mill on Rush-Lusk road [where waited for bus!].
