A fine day after a very wet one.  In afternoon took a few hymenoptera at M.S.D. Westropp's garden rubbish heap, at 10 St. James's Terrace, Clonskeagh, Dublin as follows:-

Stratiomyid:  one specimen with 4 false-scorpions clinging to its legs

15th August 1943.

A fine day, but rain in evening, after a fairly good but cool week.  Wind N all night & gentle, but backed to SW & rose about 10 AM just as we left home to ride to Royal Canal at Louisa Bridge, Leixlip, Co. KD.;  mainly sunny till 2 PM, then dull, cold & windy till 5 P.M., then warmer, wind falling & some sun, with obvious rain coming up from W. & which arrived just after we reached home at 7.10 P.M.
