361. 21.9.43, cont. Ballinacourty, ST., cont. Taken at 1. [46 mounted from 1 & these labeled on 31.1.1946!] Just before a heavy shower I hurriedly swept bushy growth at base of two lime trees on N. side of "lime avenue" & grass &c. under these two trees - not expecting much result, but to my amazement I found the net filled with such a quantity of hymenoptera that I kept this collection separate & list the contents of the sucker below - the time required to clear the net with sucker must have amounted to about 15 minutes. Hardly any other insects &c., were in the net. Unfortunately about 10 specimens were already in this sucker, taken at foot of lime trees along road & a few yards from the N. side of the lime avenue - this may account for a few of the odd specimens, such as the ♂︎ Blacus ruficornis or B. tripudians. Here is the list of contents! Phaeogenes fulvitarsis ♀︎ Dicaelotus? ♀︎, red. Hemiteles sp. 14♀︎♀︎, all I think same species Leptocryptus 2♂︎♂︎, 1♀︎ (= 3spp.) 362. 21.9.43, cont.
