Firstly, our government established the planning committee consisting of 12 professors, some Americans and some Korean officials, and the first meeting was already held about 2 weeks ago to have decided that the planning committee has 3 subcommittees (Natural History Museum, Science Education and Extension Service) and to have elected me the chairman of the planning committee. The budget for 13 scientists to work in full time for this committee was passed through the Congress, Secondly, as Dr. Taylor told us, we requested our government to give us the amount (Korean money) corresponding to $25,000 for Seoul Office to use for 1 year from the Extra Fund for 1967. But even if this (giving us this amount of money) is decided, actually we cannot use this money until forth coming March or April so the other day Mr. Choi (Director of National Science Museum), Dr. Won and I visited Asia Foundation to see Mr. Steinbach and asked him to supply us with $5,000 to $10,000 for this period (from January to March or April). He quite understood our problem and promised that he would arrange for this money after his discussing with persons of the headquarter of Asis-Foundation at Sanfrancisco because this is somewhat big amounit of money. So, I hope you will keep in contact with the persons of Asis Foundation at Sanfrancisco for this matter if possible. Thirdly it was decided that Seoul office of planning committee for the reconstruction work of National Science Museum should be located at the present location of National Science Museum so in a few days some rooms for Seoul office will be prepared. Lastly for Dr. L of whom you spoke last September, we asked the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Education to support his trip in Korea, and I know that he had been supported by the former for 10 days and by the latter for 1 and a half months, but I am afraid whether he had some inconveniences or not while his stay here.

I wish you have a very happy new year.

Sincerely yours,
