Dr. Yung Sun Kang
Department of Zoology
Seoul National University
Seoul, Korea

Dear Dr. Kang:

I am very pleased that Dr. Ke Chung Kim, about whom I spoke to you, is going to be visiting Korea in connection with our Cooperative Program for Ecosystem Research in Korea, and I am confident that you and your associates will extend to him your full cooperation and support in his efforts to assist the development of the important project tin which we are jointly engaged with the active support of the Smithsonian Institution.

Dr. Kim visited me earlier this week, and I was very impressed with his grasp of the basic problems in the field of natural resources in Korea. He mentioned some thoughts he is developing with regard to the usefulness of expanding activities in Natural Resources, especially in the field of conservation and ecology. I wonder whether the expanded plans for the Science Museum Center might not be helpful in this regard and will ask him to talk with Dr. Choi Nak-koo. In any case, I would appreciate your discussing this matter further with him at the time of his visit, and will look forward to having your views on this important subject.

With best wishes to you and your colleagues,

Sincerely yours,
