Dear Dr. Buechner:

I have recieved your letter and copies of letters addressed to Dr. Kang and Dr. Hodson. I also received a copy of "Cape Thompson --" book. I thank you for all these things. I have also received nice letters from Dr. Kang and Dr. Tyson. Dr. Kang's letter was very friendly and inviting. Dr. Tyson seems to be happy and enjoying his stay in Korea. I have replied Dr. Kang and Dr. Tyson indicating that my visit to Korea shall be in January. If you want to have "Cape Thompson" book back, please let me know.

Upon receipt of your letter to Dr. Hodson the procedure has been completed to let me take a month for leave-of-absence from the University of Minnesota. Thank you for your prompt action of sending an official letter to Dr. Hodson.

In order to have my passport straightened out with Korean consul general I will have to have 3 copies of official credential or letter form the Smithsonian explaining my mission to Korea. I would like to have a copy for my own file too. Please send me copies of official credential or letter as soon as you can.

I shall probably leave St. Paul-Minneapolis for Korea on around Christmas time. I would like to make a trip via Anchorage and Tokyo to Korea and a return trip via Tokyo and Hawaii to St. Paul-Minneapolis. Would you please tell me when I should go to Washington, D. C. for a conference ? Thanks.

With my best wishes.

Sincerely,
