The natural science field work now in progress and contemplated in Korea will provide an input of materials which need preservation and organization.  It is essential to preserve these materials as they are fundamental both for studies of change and for the restoration of natural environments and resources.  The ongoing construction at the National Science Museum should be completed and the resulting building equipped to receive the collections.  Staff training should be conducted there.  Regardless of the outcome of the planning study, the building will serve this essential interim purpose and will be convertible to other museum center uses if the planning study finds a change is desirable.
     The furnishing and equipping of the building should allow for storage rooms with proper cases, shelves, and table space and laboratory and work rooms for collections, a library and a reading room, staff offices, a fumigation chamber with an adjacent shipping and receiving room, a photographic laboratory, and a maintenance area.
     Science Center Building:  The essential impetus for the full development of the Korean National Science Museum Center will come from the programs of education described above.  Of high priority in the development of the museum is the construction of the science center building, the early promotion of this building should be a continuing concern of the planning study and as rapidly as reasonable estimates of requirements can be produced the intial steps for enlisting aid for the construction of the building should be taken.
