AIR MAIL

Dr. Edwin L. Tyson
c/o Section V
The Eleventh Pacific Science Congress
Faculty of Agriculture
Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo
Japan

Dear Ed:

Dr. John Wolfe does not have two copies of "Environment of the Cape Thompson Region, Alaska" at present, but if he receives another allotment he will send the copies to me. I will check on the matter once more before I leave for Korea.

Apparently the Air Force is inclined to accept our proposal as it was presented, which includes travel for your family. The situation looks very encouraging on all fronts.

Mr. Hurlbut discovered that you do not have the extra $10,000 of insurance for which I suggested you apply. He is very much concerned about this matter and is taking steps to arrange for a blanket policy to automatically cover persons like yourself who travel for the Smithsonian. You should be covered shortly.

I hope that you are profiting by your attendance at the Pacific Science Congress. I look forward to seeing you in Korea.

With kind regards to you and Aura,

Sincerely yours,

Helmut K. Beuchner
Assistant Director for Ecology
Museum of Natural History
