Dear Hal,

I think I mentioned my interest in the migratory bird problem of tropical South America to you anda bout my discussions with Dr. Savely. He more or less indicated that he would be^[[/]]interested in financing ^[[a preliminary survey]], through his office. Now he has notified me that he is trying to make some sort of arrangement through you. Any way, Dr. Horace Loftin, Florida State University, Albrook AF Base, Canal Zone will be contacting you in the near future with a proposal for a small initial study on the project. I hope you can find sufficient merit to consider the proposal.

The snow last night made the roads so bad we did not go to the DMZ today but plan to leave again tomorrow. After a few more trips I will send you some of the things that I have been finding on this Army Hemorrhagic Fever work. I think I may have hit on the right track for more lab work on the project. They have been working now for over 14 years and have exactly nothing.

Regards to every one, and tell Dr. Fosberg that I am working on that habitat key and hope to get it back to him before too long.

Best wishes,
