AIR MAIL

Dr. Yung Sun Kang
Department of Zoology
Seoul National University
Seoul, Korea

Dear Dr. Kang:

I received your letter of 6 August and the itinerary for the Planning Conference on the Science Museum of Korea. I would appreciate your help in arranging hotel accommodations for myself, Dr. F. Raymond Fosberg, and Dr. Lee M. Talbot at the Walker Hill, 10-16 September. Dr. Talbot and I would like to share a room. We will take the hotel for the entire period of time despite the fact that we will be in the field for at least two nights.

Enclosed is a revised itinerary for the Reconnaissance Trip to the area south of the DMZ to provide for meetings with the Museum group on 11 and 16 September.

We have received a cable from the U.S. Embassy in Seoul stating that the U.N. Command will provide logistic support for the September trip and that approval of the Korean Government for the Project on Ecosystem research is being sought. I have sent two copies of the proposal to the Embassy for detailed information.

With best wishes,

Sincerely yours,

Helmut K. Buechner
Assistant Director for Ecology
