Dr. Helmut K. Buechner
Assistant Director for Ecology
Museum of Natural History
Smithsonian Institution
Washington, D. C., U. S. A.

Dear Dr. Buechner:

I have returned to Seoul as I planned. I would like to give you my hearty thanks for your great help while my stay in Washington. I believe, now, you have come back to Washington from Switzerland. I would like to know whether you had a decisive discussion with Dr. Savely and Dr. Repley for our research program. This program is supposed to be carried out from August 1st, so unless the details about the finance arrives here very soon, this work can not be performed as planned. Therefore please let me know the more detailed.

Both the board of director of our commission and the president of Seoul National University agreed to this program. I would like you ^[[checkmark]] to alter two things in our document of the research program. Firstly, please [[underlined]] delete [[/underlined]] the word "Associate" on the 5th line of the page 5. It is because Dr. Bong Keun Kim was promoted to professor while my travel. ^[[checkmark]] Secondly, put Mr. Choon Min Kim instead of Mr. Sang Ho Kim on the 7th line of same page. (The name of Mr. Choon Min Kim's college and department is the same as that of Mr. Sang Ho Kim). This is because by doing so this research work can be more efficiently performed.

For DMZ inspection while you and your collaborators visit to Korea from September 10th to 17th we are going to prepare, keeping in close contact with American Embassy in Korea, but I hope you will send an official document through U.S. government to the American Embassy in Korea and our government, so that Republic of Korea Army and U.S. Army can understand and support our work well.
