Dr. Harold J. Coolidge - 2 - February 24, 1966 We also discussed plans for Korean participation in the 11th Pacific Science Congress, and I learned that they have submitted a plan or budget to their government, or to some other organization, hoping to obtain financial assistance. In Japan I met with Drs. Sugawara, Yamamoto, Wadati, and Kurata, and we discussed the 11th Pacific Science Congress and the 1970 International Symposium on Land Subsidence. I was pleased with the discussions. The August meeting will be interesting in itself, with the added benefit of a one-day field trip on land subsidence and an informal meeting to plan the 1970 meeting. I'll try to keep you informed about developments here on the DMZ studies. Sincerely yours, ^[[Joseph T. Callahan]] Joseph T. Callahan
