Korean Scientific Research Committee for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources was organized and on 11th August 1965, it adopted its present name as Korean Commission for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. During November-December in 1964, in cooperation with the Cultural Property Preservation Bureau, Ministry of Education, the Korean Commission sent its survey team to Cheju—Do, Solak Mt., islet "Hong-Do" and south-western coast. They investigated fauna and flora and also conducted geological survey of these islets. The results of the survey will soon be made into publications.

(3) Dr. Harold J. Coolidge during his recent visit to Korea from 3rd to 6th November 1965, made many valuable suggestions for us and especially, the one about long-range survey of "Ecological Studies of Environmental Changes in DMZ" had a great impact on our current plan and consequently, it helped us to establish practical plan for future research.

Dr. Coolidge, in his speech titled "The Role of International Conservation in Saving Man's Natural Environment", told us as follows.
