7 - Dr. Savely has already requested written confirmation from the Army of the availability of the two jeeps, their delivery for use by September 10, 1966, and possible maintenance service by the Army.  No answer has been received as yet.  it should be understood that if the military is unable to furnish them, the project costs would be increased by $6,000. ($3,000 per vehicle)

8 - The $600 yearly payment to the Korean Research assistants is the current going rate for these types of sub-professionals. The source of this figure is Dr. Kang.

9 - The $60 per month for drivers is the current actual rate being paid to these types of Korean workers. The source is Dr. Kang, who further stated the same $7.50 per diem being paid to scientists and others be allowed drivers as this is the most feasible way to attract and hold responsible drivers in Korea.

10 - Secretarial assistance - $1,000
Rates for Korean secretaries employed by the U.S. Embassy in Seoul range from $575 to $865 per annum, on a long term basis. Short term employment is more costly, due to the necessity of paying one month's full salary upon termination. No hourly paid secretaries are available.
The proposal is for two secretaries for six months each, on an annual basis of $1,000.
