David Crockett Graham's Diary no. II, January - May, 1928

About the Project

Picking up right where he left off in Diary I, David Crockett Graham (1884-1961) continues documenting his field collecting trips in the vicinity of Suifu (now Yibin) in China during the winter and spring of 1928. Including more than the birds, insects, mammals, and fish he collected, Graham also makes ethnological observations during this trip and notes that a civil war has begun to erupt. Join with others and transcribe the typescript copy of Graham's diary and get a sense of the perspective of this missionary, educator and field collector had of China in the late 1920's.
