Washington Ga 24 May/67 Respy ret'd thro' Col Ehlers to Col Sibley - I have had notice from Lt. Grumwell in Monticello of the proposal of the Employer to return Edna to her Mother, and on conference with the Mother have accepted the same in full satisfaction we look for her now daily. "Cap Colley", the colored actor in this case of Kidnapping is in Augusta & I would be glad if Col. Ehlers would have him sent here. I saw him there myself a week ago but said nothing, because I had despaired of ever hearing more of these papers He is black, thick set, and limps in his walk a little. Able is probably in Augusta also. J.H. Alexander May 26 1867 [[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]]
