Ed's baby is walking all over and has eight teeth and Ned is larger and fatter than ever he is two or three inches above the average [[cross-out]]age for[[/cross-out]] height for his age and twenty lbs heavier.

Has Alvina written you about Vera she must be seriously ill - not in bed - but no
 one knows what ails and we don't seem able to find out. It really is heartrending to see such a fine girl waste away that way.

You of course know that she looked very badly when she was here last Christmas and even worse when we saw her in May on our trip to Boston.
