Had I not the cages on my hands I would ditch the whole ostrich business and come home, but the cages cost too much to abandon at this stage of the game. The Munsen line has promised to carry them free if I accompany them and that is why I must stay over.

There is absolutely no consolation for this enforced stay. Could I afford to pay for the cages out of my own pocket I would come home but I can't. Mann the zoo supr. told me he would reimburse me for my expenditures in getting the birds, but I can't [[underlined]] expect [[/underlined]] him to pay if I don't get them.
