On motion, the list was approved.

The Senator went on to say that in view of the possibility that some of the individuals named might not be in a position to accept membership on the Commission, the Committee submitted the following resolution for the consideration of the Board:-

RESOLVED; That the Permanent Committee of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution is hereby authorized to fill any vacancies occurring in the membership of the National Gallery of Art Commission between meetings of the Board, and to report such appointments at the meeting of the Board next following such action.

On motion, the resolution was adopted.
