PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS
OF THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD
FEBRUARY 14, 1924.

HOUR OF MEETING.
The Board met at 10.15 A.M. today.

PRESENT.
Senator A. Owsley Stanley.
Representative R. Walton Moore.
Representative Walter H. Newton.
Mr. Charles F. Choate, Jr.
Mr. Robert S. Brookings.
Mr. Irwin B. Laughlin.
The Secretary, Dr. Charles D. Walcott.
(Upon invitation Mr. Choate presided)

NON-ATTENDANCE.
The Secretary stated that the Chief Justice was unable to be present owing to illness; and that Senators Lodge and McCormick, Representative Johnson, Judge Gray, Mr. Henry White and Mr. Delano were prevented from attending by important engagements.

APPOINTMENT OF REGENTS.
The Secretary announced that the Speaker of the House had reappointed Messrs. Albert Johnson and R. Walton Moore as Regents, and had filled the vacancy caused by Mr. Greene's election to the Senate by the appointment of Mr. Walter H. Newton, of Minnesota. [[initialed]] CDW [[/initialed]]
