Proceedings of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution at the Adjourned Meeting held Monday, January 5, 1925.

HOUR OF MEETING.

The Board of Regents met at 9:30 A. M. in the Regents' Room. 

PRESENT.

The Hon. William H. Taft, Chief Justice of the United States, Chancellor;
Senator Reed Smoot;
Senator A. Owsley Stanley;
Representative Albert Johnson;
Representative R. Walton Moore;
Representative Walter H. Newton;
Mr. Robert S. Brookings;
Mr. Frederic A. Delano; and
The Secretary, Mr. Charles D. Walcott.

PRESIDING OFFICER.

The Chancellor was unable to be present at the hour of calling the meeting to order and Mr. Brookings was requested to preside.

NON-ATTENDANCE.

The Secretary stated that Judge Gray and Mr. Henry White were unable to attend owing to illness; that Senator Cummins was detained by an important committee engagement; that Senator Pepper was unable to be present owing to engagements; that Mr. Charles F. Choate, Jr., was in Florida; and that Mr. Irwin B. Laughlin was abroad as Minister to Greece.
